Frequently Asked Questions
Why must the blend percentages add to exactly 100%?
The percentages represent the proportional share of each color in the total quantity. If they don't add to 100%, the individual quantities won't sum to the total you need — you'll either order too much or too little overall.
Where do I get the blend percentages from?
Blend percentages come from the manufacturer's color card, a designer specification, or your own mix developed from sample boards. Some suppliers provide pre-specified blends with set percentages for their standard color ranges.
How do I know the total quantity to enter?
Use the Flake Broadcast Calculator to determine the total flake required for your floor area and broadcast profile. Enter that result as the total here and split it across your colors.
Do I need to order exact quantities of each color?
Flake is typically sold by the pound or kilogram. The quantities shown are exact — round up to the nearest sellable unit based on your supplier's pack sizes. Confirm minimum order quantities with your supplier before placing the order.
