Customer Floor Care Guide (White Label)
A care sheet with your business name on it, for the customer to keep. Fill the blanks in from the manufacturer's care document for the product you installed, then print.
What it is for
The page you leave with the customer, so the floor is looked after by someone who was not there when you explained it. It carries your name and number, not ours. The general advice is printed; everything that depends on the product is a blank, filled in from the coating manufacturer's care or maintenance document for the system you installed. Why each section is there is in customer handover and floor care.
- Fill in the blanks before you print, or by hand on site. A care sheet with the cleaner left blank sends the customer to whatever is under the sink
- The three dates should match the ones on the final walkthrough and handover sheet
The sheet
Add your details and they appear on the sheet. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere: it lives in this tab until you print.
Caring for Your New Floor
Keep this with your warranty. It is written for the floor that was installed for you.
Your floor
The first days
Your floor will look finished long before it is fully cured. Please keep to these dates, whatever it looks like.
Until then: nothing laid flat on the floor (rugs, cardboard, plastic sheet), no tape on it, and no water on it.
Everyday care
Grit underfoot is what wears a floor. Sweep or dust mop regularly, and keep mats at the doors.
Please ask us before using any other cleaner, especially anything acidic, strongly alkaline, solvent based or abrasive.
Spills
Wipe spills up promptly. Your floor resists many chemicals, but for a limited time, and a spill left standing can mark it.
Looking after the surface
- Lift heavy items rather than dragging them
- Put pads or plates under jack stands, ladders, furniture legs and anything with a small, heavy footprint
- The floor can be slippery when wet. Dry it before walking on it
When to call us
Call before trying to fix anything yourself. A patch, a cleaner or a coating applied before we see the floor can make the problem harder to put right and can affect your warranty. Worth a call while they are small: worn traffic lanes, marks that will not clean off, lifting at an edge, and anything soft or cracked.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the cleaner and the intervals left blank?
Because they depend on the product. The right cleaner, its dilution and how often to use it come from the coating manufacturer's care or maintenance document for the system you installed, and a sheet that printed one answer would be wrong for most floors it was handed out with. Copy the manufacturer's instruction onto the sheet in their words.
What if the manufacturer does not publish a care document?
Ask their technical line before you hand anything over, and write down what they tell you and who told you. Guessing on the customer's behalf is how a floor gets cleaned with the one thing it does not resist.
Does this replace the handover sheet?
No. The handover sheet is the record of the job: what was installed, the punch list, the dates and the signatures. This is the customer's instructions for living with the floor. Leave both, and keep a copy of each.
